About Us

Kids Planet Hoylake

Kids Planet Hoylake is a warm, welcoming nursery set in a unique former police station on Queens Road, with spacious rooms, secure outdoor areas, and a state-of-the-art sensory room. Since opening in 2018, we’ve been passionate about supporting children aged six weeks to five years through meaningful interactions, curiosity-led learning, and high-quality care tailored to each child’s individual stage and interests.

Every child is supported through in-the-moment planning, helping them grow at their own pace with encouragement, challenge, and care. Whether indoors in our sensory-rich environments or outdoors in the fresh sea air, we’re proud to create a setting where children feel safe, valued, and ready to explore the world around them.

Sammii Blair

Manager

I began my journey with Kids Planet in 2013 and feel proud to now lead the team as Nursery Manager. My experience across different roles has given me a strong understanding of what high-quality early years education looks like, from hands-on learning to guiding and supporting the wider team.
I’m a strong advocate for outdoor learning and actively champion our Udeskole approach, encouraging our team to use nature and real-life experiences to inspire curiosity and build confidence.
As a manager, I’m committed to reflective practice and supporting both our team and our families. I believe in creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported, and where families feel welcomed and involved every step of the way.

Fresh air, freedom, and exploration

Beachside Learning Adventures

We’re lucky to have the beach right on our doorstep, and we make the most of it as a natural, open-ended learning environment. Whether digging, building, climbing, or running, children develop key skills and confidence while enjoying the fresh sea air. The ever-changing landscape inspires curiosity, imagination, and collaboration – turning every beach trip into a rich, exciting learning experience.

Nature-based learning beyond the classroom

Outdoor Learning the Udeskole Way

Kids Planet Hoylake proudly follows our unique Udeskole approach to outdoor learning, inspired by Scandinavian forest schools. Children regularly spend time outdoors exploring local wildlife, plants, and natural surroundings, helping them connect with the world around them. From nature trails to community walks, these hands-on experiences build independence, resilience, and a strong sense of self – all while supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage.
