About Smeeton Road

Kids Planet Smeeton Road supports families from the nursery years into school, with care for babies through to preschoolers alongside before- and after-school care and a holiday club. Formerly Hunny Hive, our setting occupies the former Kibworth Medical Centre, with an all-weather garden for children to explore.

Air-conditioned rooms include dedicated dining and indoor physical play spaces, offering different experiences across the day. Home-cooked meals are prepared on site, and secure access forms part of our safety arrangements. Our team helps children learn through practical play and familiar routines, supporting their interests as they grow.

  • Melissa Mills (Assistant Manager)

    Melissa Mills (Assistant Manager)

    Manager

With nearly 15 years of experience in early years education, I have worked across a range of roles including practitioner, room leader, and deputy, supporting children from birth to age five. I hold a Level 3 qualification and a BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies, reflecting both my practical expertise and academic understanding of child development.

I am also a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), with a strong commitment to creating inclusive, safe, and nurturing environments where every child can thrive.

As a parent of two children, I bring both professional knowledge and personal insight to my work, allowing me to build strong, supportive relationships with children and families alike.

    Chloe Bott (Manager)

    Manager

I have over 14 years of experience within the childcare sector, having progressed through a variety of roles before becoming Nursery Manager in 2018. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to providing children with the best possible start in life by creating safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments that support their development and prepare them for school.

I am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of care and early years education across the setting, ensuring every child is supported to reach their full potential. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce, alongside further professional qualifications in child behaviour and psychology, as well as children and young people’s mental health.

In addition, I have extensive experience in supporting children with additional needs, working collaboratively with families and external professionals to deliver inclusive practice and tailored support that meets each child’s individual needs.
