Company News

27 March 2025

Mother’s Day is a time to honour the incredible mums, grandmothers, and mother figures who bring so much love into our lives. It’s a day for appreciation, heartfelt moments, and making memories together. At Kids Planet, we believe that every day is a reason to celebrate mums – but on Mother’s Day, we go the extra mile to make it truly special.

This year, our nurseries have been busy making Mother’s Day magical with heart-warming activities that help little ones show appreciation for the special people in their lives. Read on to see how we’ve celebrated – and get inspired with easy activities to try at home with your little one!

How Our Nurseries Celebrated Mother’s Day

At Kids Planet, we believe in making memories and giving children the chance to express their love and appreciation. Here’s a look at how some of our nurseries celebrated this special occasion:

Kids Planet Fulwood: Stay & Play Fun

We had a wonderful time celebrating Mother’s Day with our amazing toddlers and their mummies. Our Stay & Play session was filled with laughter, love, and creativity, as little ones proudly showed their favourite activities to their mums. From arts and crafts to sensory play, it was a heart-warming morning of special moments.

Kids Planet Ansdell: Yoga & Treat Bags

A huge thank you to everyone who made our Mother’s Day event a success! The children loved showing their mummies how we do our yoga sessions with Bendy Wendy. Plus, we were lucky to have local businesses donate items and vouchers to create extra special Mummy’s treat bags!

Kids Planet Conwy: Breakfast Celebration

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Mother’s Day Breakfast this morning! We served fresh fruit, orange juice, and pastries, all beautifully presented for our lovely mums. It was wonderful to chat with parents and little ones, creating a warm and welcoming start to the day.

Mother’s Day Fun at Home: Activities for Your Little Ones

Mother’s Day isn’t just about gifts – it’s about spending quality time together and making lovely memories. If you’re celebrating at home, here are some easy and engaging activities that toddlers and pre-schoolers can do to make the day extra special.

1. Handmade Cards: For That Personal Touch

A Mother’s Day card made by little hands is something to treasure forever. Set up a simple craft station with paper, crayons, stickers, and glue. Here’s how you can make it even more special:

  • Handprint Heart – Dip your child’s hands in paint and press them onto the card in the shape of a heart. Write “I love you, Mummy!” inside.
  • Collage of Love – Help your child cut out (or tear) pictures from magazines that remind them of Mum and stick them onto a card.
  • Letter from the Heart – Ask your little one, “What do you love most about Mummy?” and write down their adorable answer.

2. Breakfast Surprise: Watch Your Little Chefs in Action

Breakfast in bed doesn’t have to be fancy – just made with love! Even toddlers can help with simple food prep:

  • Fruit & Yoghurt – Let them layer yoghurt, granola or oats, and fruit in a cup for a colourful and tasty treat.
  • Jammy Toast – Spread butter and jam on toast together and cut it into heart shapes with a cookie cutter.
  • Mini Pancakes – Pre-make pancake batter and let little ones help with mixing, pouring, or adding toppings like bananas or chocolate chips.

3. Flower Picking & Nature Walk: A Little Adventure

Take a walk with your child to explore nature together. Let them collect small flowers, leaves, or twigs and create a personalised homemade bouquet.

  • Flower Pressing – If you have time, press a few flowers in a heavy book and use them for a future craft.
  • Treasure Hunt – Turn the walk into a game by looking for different colours of flowers or spotting birds and insects.
  • Memory Jar – Collect little treasures from the walk (like a feather or a special rock) and pop them in a jar as a keepsake of the day.

4. DIY Handprint Art: A Keepsake for Mums to Cherish

Mums love keepsakes, and handprint art is a beautiful way to capture this moment in time. All you need is some paper, non-toxic paint, and a little creativity.

  • Handprint Heart or Tree – Press your child’s painted hand onto paper and turn it into a heart or a tree with added fingerprint “leaves.”
  • Mummy & Me Prints – Make it extra special by adding Mum’s handprint underneath the children for a “growing together” effect.
  • Footprint Butterflies – Paint your child’s feet and stamp them side by side to make butterfly wings – just add some details with a marker!

Frame the finished masterpiece as a lasting memory of Mother’s Day 2025!

5. Mummy & Me Dance Party: Move, Groove & Giggle

Nothing beats the joy of dancing around your home together! Play your favourite songs (or let your little one pick a playlist) and have a mini disco in the living room. Some dancing game ideas include:

  • Freeze Dance – Play music and pause it at random times—whoever stops moving the quickest wins!
  • Follow the Leader – Take turns making up silly dance moves and copying each other.
  • Bubble Pop Boogie – Blow bubbles while dancing around and trying to pop them.

This is a great way to burn off energy, share laughs, and create happy moments together!

Making Mother’s Day Magical

Mother’s Day is about cherishing the little moments. Whether it’s a handmade craft, a heartfelt hug, or a giggle-filled dance party, what matters most is spending time together.

At Kids Planet, we love seeing children celebrate their mums in their own unique ways. How ever you celebrate, take the time to soak up the joy of being together – because those are the moments that will be remembered forever.
