About Durham
Your child’s ideas help shape the day at Kids Planet Durham. Our long-established team pays attention to what captures their interest and uses it to support learning through play. Loose parts play gives children materials they can combine and use in their own ways, while outdoor experiences offer more room for discovery.
We work closely with families to understand each child, including what they enjoy and how they’re developing. Our team uses that knowledge to support their next steps through play and everyday routines. There’s time to explore without a fixed result to aim for, with adults there to help your child take an idea further.

Louise Carr
ManagerI am the nursery manager and have been part of this nursery since 2016 with many years of early years experience. I am also a mum to two little ones who now attend school. I love how every day in nursery is completely different one minute you could be blasting off to space and then the next taking a trek to find dinosaurs. Imaginative play is one of my big passions within the nursery and I love to help children to become the most inquisitive and imaginative little people they can be. I enjoy teaching children their early phonics and getting them ready for school by having the most fun and the best adventure possible.
Adventures Beyond the Classroom
Bringing Learning to Life with Outdoor Play
At Kids Planet, we believe the great outdoors is one of the best learning environments. Our unique nature-based learning encourages children to explore, take on new challenges, and develop essential life skills through hands-on outdoor experiences. Whether it’s discovering wildlife, growing vegetables, or engaging in active play, we provide endless opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive in the natural world.
