Henley 2 is our specialist preschool setting, specifically designed to prepare children for their transition to primary school.

Henley 2 opened in 2009 specifically to support the next stage of learning, ensuring a focused environment for Rising 3s and Preschoolers. Located in Henley Green/Wyken Croft, we provide a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.

Our setting serves as a natural progression from Henley 1, though we welcome new families joining us at this stage too.

From our Udeskole-accredited outdoor learning programme to our Helping Hands Station supporting families, Henley 2 offers much more than childcare. We focus on building the independence and confidence children need for their transition to primary school.

Our dedicated team is passionate about fostering a love of learning while strengthening community connections and supporting families through their child’s final years in early years education.

She has been in the role since 2022 and has worked at the nursery since 2021, beginning as Deputy Manager. With Level 3 childcare, Sophie also holds a mental health first aid qualification.

With sports activities to support physical development and the Famly app for real-time updates, we ensure every child gets the best start in a safe, nurturing environment.

We are proud to hold Udeskole accreditation, recognising our commitment to outdoor learning and nature-based education. Children spend significant time outdoors, engaging in meaningful, hands-on experiences that nurture curiosity, resilience, and confidence. From exploring local green spaces to learning through real-world interactions in nature, our approach fosters a lifelong love for the environment and supports healthy, active development.

At Henley 2, we’re passionate about giving back and supporting our nursery community. Our Helping Hands Station provides essentials such as children’s clothing, coats, shoes, and nutritious food bags, available for families to take, swap, or contribute. This initiative not only reduces waste and unnecessary costs but also builds a culture of kindness, connection, and mutual support, ensuring every family feels cared for and included.
