Kids Planet Altofts is a warm, welcoming nursery with a dedicated and passionate team, providing high-quality childcare in the heart of the local community.

Situated in a fully renovated former OAP hut, our purpose-designed nursery offers a light, airy, and homely environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported. We understand how important those first steps into nursery are, which is why we create a relaxed, home-from-home atmosphere that encourages a smooth transition from family life into early years education.

Our nursery is thoughtfully organised to support children at every stage of their early years journey. We have a separate Baby House for children aged 0–18 months, located just down the road from the main nursery. This dedicated 15-place baby setting provides a calm, nurturing environment where our youngest children receive individualised care and attention. Within the main nursery, children progress into our Tots Room for 18 months–2 years, before moving on to our combined Toddlers & Preschool Room for children aged 2–5 years. Each room is carefully designed to provide engaging learning opportunities that encourage curiosity, confidence, and independence.

Healthy lifestyles are an important part of nursery life, and our in-house cook prepares fresh, nutritious, home-made meals every day to support children’s wellbeing and development. As an inclusive setting, we are committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. Our experienced team includes a dedicated SENDCO, Mental Health First Aider, and fully first aid trained staff, all working together to provide the highest standards of care and education.

We have strong links with local schools and the wider community and offer a variety of enriching opportunities for children and families, including lending libraries, swap shops, home learning packs, and exciting outings that extend learning beyond the nursery. I have been part of the Kids Planet family for five years, starting as an Assistant Practitioner at Kids Planet and working my way up to Nursery Manager of Altofts.

I hold a degree in Childhood Studies, am a qualified Mental Health First Aider, and have also been a SENCO. I have worked with children for many years through placements, coaching dancing, and running my own cheerleading group.

I understand how important it is creating an inclusive environment for every child, ensuring that they feel valued and supported. I am passionate about creating the best possible opportunities for our children, their families, but also about leading my team with dedication, encouragement, and care, helping them to grow and succeed.

With sports activities to support physical development and the Famly app for real-time updates, we ensure every child gets the best start in a safe, nurturing environment.
