Families are part of the wider nursery community at Kids Planet Queen Street in Normanton. Our long-standing team works in an Inspire-accredited nursery within a renovated former school, with an on-site SENDCo supporting children with additional needs. Nature-inspired activity areas and outdoor play give children opportunities for discovery.
Lending libraries and home learning packs offer ideas and resources to share together, while swap shops provide practical support for families. Local visits help your child get to know their community, with our team building on those experiences back at nursery. Out-of-school care also supports families whose children have moved beyond the nursery years.

Laura Scholey
ManagerWith over 25 years of experience in childcare, I began my journey at just 16, starting as an apprentice and working my way up to become the Nursery Manager here at Kids Planet Queen Street. I hold qualifications in childcare as well as being a certified Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), having delivered NVQ training across nurseries and schools within the community. Childcare has always been my true passion, and as a mum of two boys, I understand the value of creating a warm, supportive environment for every child. I’m proud to lead a dedicated team that shares my commitment to making a difference every day.

Inclusion is at the heart of our practice. Our experienced SENDCO and supportive team ensure that every child’s individual needs are recognised and nurtured. With a dedicated sensory room and visual aids throughout the nursery, including BSL and Makaton support cards, we create a welcoming environment where every child can thrive. Strong partnerships with external agencies allow us to provide tailored support and guidance to families when they need it most.
