Overview
About Countesthorpe
Children at Kids Planet Countesthorpe can enjoy movement throughout the year, with a dedicated indoor physical play area and an all-weather garden. We welcome babies through to preschoolers into air-conditioned rooms arranged for each age group, with our team supporting their learning through play.
Our nursery, formerly Hunny Comb, is on the corner of Foston Road and Leicester Road. A separate dining area gives children space for mealtimes, and secure access forms part of the safety arrangements. Our team supports children across their daily experiences, helping them explore at their stage of development and get involved in the things they enjoy.

Nicola Hoy
ManagerI have over 17 years of experience working in childcare, supporting children through some of the most important stages of their early development. I hold a Level 3 qualification in childcare and currently serve as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), ensuring that every child is safe, supported, and able to access inclusive learning opportunities.
I am enthusiastic about working as part of a team and believe that strong collaboration is key to providing the best possible care and learning experiences. I am passionate about creating opportunities that encourage children to explore, develop confidence, and reach their full potential at their own pace.
My approach focuses on fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning, while maintaining a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion, ensuring each child has the foundation they need to thrive both now and in the future.
Adventures Beyond the Classroom
Bringing Learning to Life with Outdoor Play
At Kids Planet, we believe the great outdoors is one of the best learning environments. Our unique nature-based learning encourages children to explore, take on new challenges, and develop essential life skills through hands-on outdoor experiences. Whether it’s discovering wildlife, growing vegetables, or engaging in active play, we provide endless opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive in the natural world.
