Overview
About Whetstone
At Kids Planet Whetstone, children can enjoy active play both indoors and outside, with a dedicated indoor physical play area and all-weather surfaces in the garden and yard. Our nursery, formerly Hunny Bear, welcomes babies through to preschoolers into air-conditioned rooms suited to their stage of development.
Home-cooked meals are served in a dedicated dining space, giving children time together as part of their day. Our team supports learning through play and these everyday experiences, helping children explore their interests. We also offer a holiday club, providing care for school-aged children during the holidays.

Shanice MacDonald
ManagerI began my journey in childcare 12 years ago as an apprentice, fueled by a genuine love for early years education. Over the last decade, I have dedicated myself to mastering every aspect of the field, working my way up from an apprentice to my current role as Deputy Manager.
Beyond the daily curriculum, I am a qualified DSL, meaning the safety and welfare of every child is at the forefront of everything I do.
I am deeply enthusiastic about child development and believe that every interaction is an opportunity for a "teachable moment" and I strive to create a safe, stimulating environment where children feel empowered to explore, learn, and reach their full potential.

Adventures Beyond the Classroom
Bringing Learning to Life with Outdoor Play
At Kids Planet, we believe the great outdoors is one of the best learning environments. Our unique nature-based learning encourages children to explore, take on new challenges, and develop essential life skills through hands-on outdoor experiences. Whether it’s discovering wildlife, growing vegetables, or engaging in active play, we provide endless opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive in the natural world.
