Kids Planet Durham

At Kids Planet Durham, we are passionate about creating an inspiring and imaginative environment where every child can thrive. Our approach focuses on loose parts play, ‘In the Moment’ planning, and forming strong, supportive relationships with families. We believe in working closely with parents to provide the best possible learning opportunities for every child.

Our dedicated and longstanding team ensures children are cared for in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. With a focus on creativity, independence, and curiosity, children are encouraged to follow their own interests, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

I am the nursery manager and have been part of this nursery since 2016 with many years of early years experience. I am also a mum to two little ones who now attend school. I love how every day in nursery is completely different one minute you could be blasting off to space and then the next taking a trek to find dinosaurs. Imaginative play is one of my big passions within the nursery and I love to help children to become the most inquisitive and imaginative little people they can be. I enjoy teaching children their early phonics and getting them ready for school by having the most fun and the best adventure possible.

At Kids Planet, we believe in making life easier for families, which is why our nurseries offer an all-inclusive approach. Our fees cover everything your child needs for a happy, comfortable day, including nappies, wipes, formula milk, and sun cream, so you have one less thing to worry about. We provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals and snacks, catering to all dietary needs to keep little ones fuelled for a day of learning and play. With sports activities to support physical development and the Famly app for real-time updates, we ensure every child gets the best start in a safe, nurturing environment.

We love getting involved in the local community, from family days in the park to helping at the community garden and taking part in local litter picks. Our children also enjoy trips to local parks, woodland walks, and visits to places such as Branspeth Castle. Travelling by bus into Durham is always an adventure, giving children real-world experiences that build confidence, social skills, and curiosity.
