The teams at three of the University of Oxford’s nurseries, operated by Kids Planet, are delighted to have been awarded ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ in all areas following their recent inspections.
The Kids Planet group was selected by the University of Oxford to operate their five existing nurseries located in the University area of Oxfordshire, in North/Central Oxford and Headington. Bradmore Road, Mansion House, and Jack Straws Lane have been managed by Kids Planet since July 2021 when Kids Planet expanded into the South of England.
“As the Area Manager for Oxford, and former Manager of Jack Straws Lane, I am delighted to have achieved three Outstanding Ofsted gradings across my nurseries. The teams work so hard on a daily basis to ensure the children in our settings receive the very best care and education each and every day.
Each of our nurseries is different, offering unique opportunities to our children and families, but the care and dedication of the staff teams remain consistent. I am so proud of my teams and I look forward to continuing to provide outstanding environments for our families.”
We have been working with Kids Planet for two years now and have formed a close partnership to provide the families of the University with excellent quality childcare. We are thrilled that three of our nurseries have achieved Ofsted Outstanding ratings.
This is a direct result of the commitment staff show to make the nursery experience the best it possibly can be for all children. Our nursery staff and the management team at Kids Planet have gone above and beyond and have made our nurseries magical and awe-inspiring environments. We thank Kids Planet andthe nursery staff for the dedication and inspiration they bring to the nurseries every single day.
Kids Planet Bradmore Road’s Ofsted Outstanding Report revealed how the unique and ambitious curriculum caters to the needs of all the children, including children who speak English as an additional language and those with special educational needs. It explains that staff have high expectations for children, and “children behave very well as they are engrossed in inspiring and captivating activities”.
“I am extremely proud of my team. We are so thrilled to be able to show everyone what we do on a daily basis and how hard the team works. We strive to be the best every day and we are so proud of this wonderful outcome.
Receiving an outstanding grade from Ofsted is a proud moment for us, but it also serves as motivation to continue striving for excellence in everything we do. We remain dedicated to providing the highest quality care and education for all the children entrusted to us.”
Kids Planet Jack Straws Lane’s Ofsted Outstanding Report revealed how staff are confident about children’s abilities, and children benefit from “an exciting curriculum that is delivered with great skill by the knowledgeable staff.” The report highlights the strong focus on outdoor learning and how this “enhances, and in no way compromises, children’s learning across a broad curriculum.”
“As a new Manager of Jack Straws Lane, I am so proud of the team, and we could not be more delighted with the result. This is a true testament to the nurturing environment we work hard to provide each day. We look forward to continuing to provide the highest standard of care for our children.”
Kids Planet Mansion House’s Ofsted Outstanding Report revealed the importance of children’s wellbeing to leaders and staff in this setting, where “pre-school children talk enthusiastically about their ‘zen den’ where they practise yoga and breathing techniques.” The children at this nursery are described as recalling their previous learning and “impressively choosing to take the lead.”
“As a new Manager, I am thrilled to have received an Outstanding Ofsted grading for Mansion House. This has been made possible by my wonderfully dedicated team, who consistently go out of their way to support all the children and families in our care. Mansion House is a home away from home for everybody who enters and as a Manager, this is what I pride myself on; we provide a safe, welcoming environment for everybody.
Every day is an exciting new opportunity to learn and grow alongside our families as we teach the children the key skills they need to be ready to take on the world. This is evident in the care and compassion we give on a day-to-day basis in the setting. Receiving the Outstanding grading for Mansion House has been one of the proudest moments of my career in childcare.’’
